Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Depending upon the size of the bird, a 15-20 lb. turkey will cook probably 4 1/2 to 5 hrs.
  2. Start with the stuffing. You can make breading from box, but I prefer from scratch. It gives the bird a good flavor if it is stuffed. Break up the bread white/wheat (must be "old" bread) as much as you want in a large bowl, chop up the onion, a couple stalks of celery, mix up.
  3. Heat up about 1/4 c. of butter (depending on how much you want) and pour over mix, just sufficient to dampen the mix. After you have cleaned your bird, stuff it with the mix, and salt it. Put the turkey in the roaster and pour 1 c. of 7-Up in bottom of pan, put in oven.
  4. While turkey is in oven, mix together 1/4 c. honey and 1 c. of 7-Up (put in microwave to heat mix up). After 3 hrs in oven, pull bird out and baste with honey and 7-Up (leave about 1/4 c.). 30-40 min before bird is done, pull out of oven and use remainder of mix and leave uncovered. WALLA!
