Ingredients
- 2 lb Gooseberries
- 4 lb Strawberries
- 5 lb Sugar
Directions
- Cook Gooseberries in a little water. When cooked mash them up. Add in the stawberries. Bring slowly to the boil and simmer for twenty min. Add in sugar (preferably warmed) and stir till dissolved. Boil fast for ten min. Check for setting and continue to boil till setting point is reached. Put into warmed, sterilised jars.
- This made about 10lb of jam.
- Apparently there is no problem setting this jam. In the original recpie it does not even say to check for setting. And there has been no problem with the set. I can turn the jars upside down.
