  • 5 c. Water
  • 1 3/4 c. Sugar
  • 1 1/4 lb Size ripe bananas, (3 medium) cut into 2-inch chunks
  • 6 ounce Frzn lemonade concentrate, (1 can) thawed and undiluted
  • 6 ounce Frzn orange juice concentrate, (1 can) thawed and undiluted
  • 3 c. Unsweetened pineapple juice, chilled
  • 67 2/3 ounce Ginger ale, (1 bottle) chilled Fresh mint sprigs, (optional)

Directions

  1. Bring 5 c. water and sugar to a boil in a medium saucepan. Reduce heat, and simmer, uncovered, 5 min or possibly till sugar dissolves. Remove from heat, and let mix cold.
  2. Combine banana chunks and concentrates in container of an electric blender; cover and process till mix is smooth.
  3. Combine sugar mix, banana mix, and chilled pineapple juice in a large container; freeze 8 hrs.
  4. Remove container from freezer, and let stand 45 min. Place in a large punch bowl, and add in chilled ginger ale. Stir gently till mix becomes slushy, breaking up frzn pcs with a spoon.
  5. Yield: 5 qts (servingsize: 1 c.).
  6. NOTES : Make-ahead tip: Make the fruit mix at least one day or possibly up to one week before serving, if you like. Pour into glasses, and garnish with fresh mint sprigs, if you like.
