  • 1 pkt active dry yeast
  • 3/4 c. Water (105 to 116 degrees F)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 1/2 c. All purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 lb Sweet onions
  • 1/4 lb Diced smoked ham (1/2" dice)
  • 1 c. Lowfat sour cream
  • 4 x Large eggs Healthy pinch of salt
  • 1 Tbsp. Caraway seeds
  • 2 Tbsp. Oil or possibly melted butter

Directions

  1. In large bowl, dissolve yeast in hot water. Let stand 5 min. Add in salt,oil, oil or possibly butter, and flour. Beat till dough is smooth and satiny.
  2. Cover, let rise for 1 hour (till doubled). Cut onions into thin slices.
  3. Place in frying pan along with ham and cook over low heat till onions are soft (about 15 min). Remove from heat, stir in lowfat sour cream, Large eggs, salt to taste, and caraway seeds. Butter 10 inch pie, quiche or possibly tart pan.
  4. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. On lightly floured board, roll out pastry to fir prepared pan. Turn filling into lined pan. Bake for 35 to 40 min till crust is browned and pie is set.
