Ingredients

1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon lemon or vanilla extract
3 1/2 c. flour
2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 slightly beaten egg white

Directions

Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs one at a time.
Add in vanilla and gradually add in flour and baking powder and salt. Chill dough while preheating the oven to 400 degrees.
Roll out on floured board and cut with cookie cutters.
Brush with egg white and garnish with sprinkles, cherries, or nuts or other if desired.
Bake about 10 min or until edges are slightly brown.
