Ingredients
- 1/2 c. unsweetened applesauce
- 1/2 c. honey
- 1 x egg
- 1 x egg white
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/3 c. carob pwdr or possibly cocoa
- 2/3 c. unbleached flour
- 2 tsp baking pwdr
- 1/2 c. minced walnuts (optional)
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. In a large bowl, beat together the applesauce, honey, egg, egg white, and vanilla.
- In a small bowl, combine the carob, flour, and baking pwdr. Add in to the applesauce mix. Stir in the nuts. Pour the mix into an oiled 8- by 8-inch baking pan. Bake for 20 to 25 min. Remove from the oven and cold completely. Cut into squares.
- This recipe yields 12 servings.
- Serving size: 1 brownie.
