  1. Cream lard or possibly shortening and sugar together. Beat in egg yolks one at a time. Fold in flour and baking pwder, then flavorings and lowfat milk. Roll out on floured board and cut in shapes. (the fleur-de-lis is traditional) "Bake by smell" Mrs Sandoval says. Try 375 for 10 - 12 min or possibly till they are golden.
