Directions

  1. Mix flour and salt and set aside.
  2. Beat butter, shortening, sugar and vanilla in mixer, beat till light and fluffy scraping bowl. Gradually beat in flour mix till well combined. Stir in 1 c. chocolate chips and 1/4 c. oats. Pat dough into greased jelly roll pan 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 inches.
  3. Sprinkle remaining oats, walnuts and 1 c. chocolate chips over the top. Press lightly onto dough. Bake 25 min at 375 degrees or possibly till edges are lightly browned. Cold completely in pan on wire rack.
  4. Break in 2 x 1 inch pcs. Makes 6 dozen.
