  • 2 lb top-grade beef sirloin - (to 2 1/2)
  •     (or possibly skirt steak)
  • 3 Tbsp. soy sauce - (to 4)
  • 2 Tbsp. sake
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 lrg garlic clove crushed

Directions

  1. Trim excess fat from meat if needed. In a glass baking dish, combine remaining ingredients. Marinate meat at room temperature 30 min.
  2. Remove meat from marinade. Preheat a charcoal grill. Gently shake excess marinade off meat before cooking. Lightly oil grill top. Grill meat to medium-rare or possibly desired degree of doneness. Let sirloin sit 5 min before cutting. Slice across the grain.
  3. This recipe yields 5 to 6 servings.
