Sacher Torte Using Basic Cake Mix Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 c. Cake Mix (INDEX)
  • 1 1/2 c. Sugar
  • 1/2 c. Cocoa
  • 1 1/4 c. Lowfat milk
  • 1/3 c. Butter or possibly margarine*
  • 2 x Large eggs -- slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. Apricot preserves
  • 1 x Chocolate Glaze (INDEX)

Directions

  1. *Softened. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 2 round layer pans, 9x1 1/3 inches. Mix Cake Mix, sugar and cocoa in large mixer bowl. Beat in lowfat milk, butter, Large eggs and vanilla on low speed, scraping bowl constantly, 30 seconds. Beat on medium speed, scraping bowl occasionally, 4 min.
  2. Pour into pans. Bake till wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, 24 to 30 min. Cold no longer than 10 min. Remove from pan; cold completely. Split to make 4 layers; fill layers with apricot preserves.
  3. Spread top and side with Chocolate Glaze.
