Wonderful for the Holidays
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups flour
- Garnish: Red and Green Colored Sugar
- and Pecan Halves
Directions
- Blend together the butter and brown sugar until fluffy
- Add the vanilla
- Gradually add the flour
- Mix thoroughly
- Chill for one hour
- Form the dough into one-inch balls
- Roll in the colored sugar
- Arrange onto ungreased baking sheets
- Flatten with a glass until almost 1/2 inch thick
- Press a pecan half into the center
- Bake at 325 F for 10 to 12 minutes
- Makes about 4 Dozen
