Ingredients

  • 1 lb Grnd beef
  • 2 Tbsp. Vegetable oil
  • 1 med Onion, diced
  • 2 c. Celery, minced
  • 1/3 c. Red wine
  • 2 c. Tomato puree or possibly tomato sauce
  • 1 c. Tomatoes, fresh, diced
  • 1 x salt and grnd black pepper
  • 1 c. Elbow macaroni, uncooked
  • 3 can 14 1/2-oz can beef broth
  •     (or possibly use beef base for 6 c. of water)

Directions

  1. Fry grnd beef, drain any grease and remove grnd beef from pan. Add in oil and saute/fry onion and celery till translucent/soft; add in wine, tomato puree and fresh tomatoes, and simmer 30 min. Add in slat and pepper to taste.
  2. Cook macaroni till tender in boiling water and drain well. Add in grnd beef, liquid removed macaroni and broth to tomato mix and simmer till heated through.
  3. Makes 8 to 10 servings.
