- 2 cooking apples, peeled cored and cut into bite size chunks (I used Fuji Apples)
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon

- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 4 Tbsp softened butter
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds
- 4 oz cream cheese

;%20girls%20grown%20and%20gone%20but%20I%E2%80%99m%20still%20holding%20onto%20furniture,%20dolls%20and%20school%20projects%20for%20them.%20Both%20the%20living%20room%20and%20family%20room%20plus%20kitchen%20eating%20area%20and%20dining%20room%20I%20hope%20to%20downsize%20to%20just%20one%20area%20each%20so%20I%E2%80%99ve%20given%20away%20some%20big%20furniture%20plus%20found%20places%20for%20my%20Grandma%20Bathe%E2%80%99s%20dining%20table,%20chair%20and%20hutch%20to%20insure%20they%20don%E2%80%99t%20leave%20the%20family.%20My%20garage%20is%20filled%20with%20equipment%20and%20tools%20that%20I%E2%80%99m%20not%20even%20sure%20I%E2%80%99ll%20need%20and%20from%20what%20I%E2%80%99ve%20heard%E2%80%A6I%20have%20a%20LOT%20of%20dishes%20and%20pans%20and%20well,%20photo%20props!%20I%20worry%20about%20whether%20I%20will%20have%20enough%20room%20in%20storage%20for%20what%20I%20am%20keeping%20and%20I%20haven%E2%80%99t%20decided%20yet%20where%20I%E2%80%99ll%20live%20next%20so%20I%E2%80%99m%20moving%20in%20with%20neighbors%20for%20a%20bit;%20buying%20a%20home%20and%20moving%20in%20right%20now%20would%20put%20me%20over%20the%20edge%20I%20do%20believe%20(shhh%20if%20you%E2%80%99re%20thinking%20I%20already%20am!).%20Needless%20to%20say%20cooking%20has%20taken%20a%20back%20seat%20and%20I%E2%80%99ve%20had%20enough%20quick%20meals%20in%20the%20past%203%20months%20since%20starting%20this%20process%20to%20make%20up%20for%20years%20of%20avoiding%20takeout!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStill%20there%20is%20the%20occasional%20bright%20spot.%20I%20recently%20met%20a%20friend%20for%20a%20quick%20coffee%20at%20Le%20Peep,%20a%20restaurant%20I%20thought%20a%20nationwide%20chain%20but%20only%20recently%20discovered%20is%20just%20found%20in%20scattered%20states.%20I%20can%E2%80%99t%20vouch%20for%20their%20entire%20menu%20because%20it%E2%80%99s%20been%20awhile%20since%20I%E2%80%99ve%20eaten%20there%20but%20after%20enjoying%20one%20of%20their%20Gooey%20Buns%20with%20coffee;%20I%20just%20felt%20the%20urge%20to%20re-create%20them%20at%20home%20and%20immortalize%20them%20for%20myself%20on%20the%20blog!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20you%20don%E2%80%99t%20have%20a%20Le%20Peep%20in%20your%20area,%20know%20that%20though%20they%20might%20call%20them%20Gooey%20Buns,%20they%E2%80%99re%20really%20Gooey%20Muffins.%20An%20English%20muffin%20is%20topped%20with%20a%20cinnamon%20and%20sugar%20butter%20mixture%20that%20is%20broiled%20and%20then%20topped%20with%20slivered%20almonds%20for%20the%20last%20couple%20of%20minutes.%20Served%20with%20some%20sweetened%20and%20cooked%20apples%20(they%20call%20them%20%E2%80%98Sassy%E2%80%99%20Apples)%20and%20cream%20cheese%20on%20the%20side,%20I%20think%20they%E2%80%99re%20the%20perfect%20breakfast%20treat%20with%20a%20nice%20mixture%20of%20both%20sweet,%20spicy%20and%20a%20bit%20of%20tang%20from%20the%20cream%20cheese.%20I%E2%80%99m%20glad%20I%20tried%20making%20these;%20easy,%20delish%20and%20one%20more%20reason%20to%20stay%20home%20and%20make%20something%20in%20my%20own%20kitchen!%20Or%20in%20my%20case,%20my%20friend%20Karen%E2%80%99s%20kitchen;%20I%E2%80%99m%20sort%20of%20in%20a%20fog%20about%20all%20of%20it%20I%20admit%20but%20since%20I%20need%20some%20time%20to%20figure%20out%20what%20I%E2%80%99m%20doing%20next;%20they%20offered%20and%20so%20I%E2%80%99ll%20be%20bunking%20with%20Karen%20and%20her%20hubs%20Terry%20for%20a%20few%20months.%20Not%20ideal%20maybe%20but%20in%20many%20ways%20a%20nice%20respite%20while%20I%20focus%20on%20Lauren%E2%80%99s%20health%20and%20nutritional%20needs.%20Besides,%20Karen%20has%20a%20lovely%20garden%20and%20is%20looking%20forward%20to%20having%20another%20passionate%20gardener%20there%20during%20the%20growing%20season.%20I%E2%80%99m%20moving%20nine%20HUGE%20pots%20there%20too;%20guess%20I%E2%80%99ll%20be%20testing%20container%20gardening%20with%20a%20whole%20different%20perspective%20huh%E2%80%A6it%20might%20be%20all%20I%20do%20once%20I%20re-locate!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThese%20are%20so%20good;%20easy%20to%20prepare%20and%20sure%20to%20be%20something%20your%20family%20loves%20as%20much%20as%20mine.%20Promise.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELe%20Peep%20Gooey%20Buns%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECombine%20the%20apples,%20butter%20and%20cinnamon%20in%20a%20small%20pan%20on%20medium%20heat;%20cook%20until%20the%20apple%20chunks%20have%20started%20to%20soften;%20approximately%2015%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERemove%20from%20heat%20and%20set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETo%20Make%20the%20Gooey%20Buns:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETurn%20your%20oven%20to%20broil%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESplit%20English%20muffins%20and%20lay%20them%20open%20on%20your%20baking%20sheet%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECombine%20the%20cinnamon%20and%20sugar%20and%20mix%20both%20with%20the%20softened%20butter.%20Spread%20this%20mixture%20on%20each%20muffin%20half;%20yes,%20be%20generous!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20cookie%20sheet%20on%20the%20middle%20rack%20in%20your%20oven%20and%20broil%20for%20about%202%20minutes%20watching%20closely.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERemove%20from%20oven%20and%20sprinkle%20with%20the%20slivered%
