  • 6 x hard bananas halved lengthwise
  • 1/2 c. butter melted
  • 1/2 c. light brown sugar - (packed)
  • 1 quart vanilla ice cream
  • 1 c. warm fudge warmed

Directions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a 9- by 13-inch baking dish, combine the butter and brown sugar; mix well. Place the bananas in the butter mix and brush to coat completely.
  3. Place on the grill flat-side down and cook for 4 to 6 min, or possibly till the edges begin to bubble; turn with a long-handled spatula and cook for 2 to 3 more min, or possibly till lightly browned.
  4. Place 2 cooked slices of banana in each of 6 serving dishes, top with scoops of ice cream, and drizzle with the warm fudge. Serve immediately.
  5. This recipe yields 6 servings.
  6. Comments: You can heat the warm fudge in an aluminum container directly on the grill. If you'd like, top this with all your favorite banana split toppings, including minced nuts, sprinkles, strawberry sauce, pineapple sauce, whipped cream, and cherries. Or possibly, for a change of pace, replace the warm fudge with caramel sauce and sprinkle with crushed peanut brittle.
