Ingredients
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening, softened
- 1/2 c. molasses
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 c. warm water
- Flour to roll (3-5 c.)
- 2 teaspoon soda
Directions
- Cream shortening and add in sugar and egg; beat. Add in molasses, salt, warm water. Next add in flour and soda last. Mix quickly. Dough should be soft but stiff sufficient to roll. Refrigerate1 hour. Meanwhile, make the filling.
