  1. Dissolve the yeast in hot water. Add in remaining ingredients and knead a bit. Let rise about one hour. Healthy pinch off a piece about the size of an egg and make a hole in the middle. Fry in 1-2 inches of oil. Drain on paper towels. Shake in a brown bag with granulated sugar.

  3. NOTES : The fried dough which I literally grew up on was just plain Italian bread dough. No sugar and no shortening. Cannot keep this cooking fast sufficient!!
