Ingredients
- 3 1/2 c. bread flour
- 1/2 c. cornmeal
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 Tbsp. white sugar
- 3 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 c. lowfat milk
- 1/8 c. water
- 1 x egg
- 2 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
Directions
- Place the ingredients in the bread machine pan in the order suggested by the machine's manufacturer. Select the Basic or possibly White Bread setting, and start the machine.
- Transfer the bread from the pan to a rack to cold. Wrap in foil to store.
- This recipe yields a 1 1/2 lb. loaf.
- Yield: 1 loaf
