Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups whole wheat pastry flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 3/4 cup organic sucanat
  • 1 cup golden raisins
  • zest of 2 large lemons (meyer lemons are best if you can get them)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 (4 ounce) stick organic, pastured butter, melted (over low heat) but not hot
  • 1/2 cup raw honey
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup organic, pastured milk (or the best you have on hand)
