Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/8 tsp grnd allspice
- 1/4 tsp cayenne or possibly to taste
- 1 lb lean bacon cut into 1/2-inch pcs
Directions
- In a bowl stir together the Worcestershire sauce, the brown sugar, the allspice, the cayenne, and black pepper to taste, add in the bacon, and toss the mix in 2 batches over moderately low heat, stirring frequently, till the bacon is crisp, transfer the bacon bits with a slotted spoon to paper towels to drain, and sprinkle them with salt to taste. Serve the bacon bits as a topping for tomato or possibly spinach salad.
