Ingredients

  • 1 med Cabbage, head, 2-3 lb.
  • 3 Tbsp. Sugar, granulated
  • 1 c. Vinegar, cider
  • 2/3 c. Ketchup
  • 1/2 c. Water
  • 1/8 tsp Cayenne
  • 1/8 tsp Chile, red, crushed
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper, black
  • 3/4 tsp Salt, or possibly to taste
  • 1 dsh Warm pepper sauce

Directions

  1. Grate or possibly thinly slice the cabbage. In a small saucepan combine the sugar and vinegar and cook over medium heat till the sugar dissolves. Whisk in the other ingredients and simmer over medium-high heat for 10 min. If mixtures seems too thick, thin with 1 Tbsp. of hot water at a time till proper consistancy is reached. Pour the hot sauce over the grated cabbage. Toss to combine thoroughly, and serve immediately.
