Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow or possibly white cake mix
  • 1 (3 ounce.) box strawberry Jello
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 1 (10 ounce.) pkg. frzn strawberries, thawed
  • 1 sm. Cold Whip

Directions

  1. Bake cake as directed on package in 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Mix Jello with warm water. Poke holes in cake and pour Jello over it; cold in refrigerator. When ready to serve, combine Cold Whip and strawberries with juice. Spread on top and enjoy.

    I first tried this recipe years ago when I saw it on the back of a Jello box. Back then it didn't call for the Frozen Stawberries but it was the best cake I've ever had! The white cake with the strawberry jello and whipped cream was better than any strawberry shorcake I've ever eaten in my life. It's been so long since I've made it I couldn't remember exactly how much water to mix with the jello, that's when my Mom suggested I try this web site and I'm glad I did because her Birthday is Friday and I plan to make her this cake.
