Dried Fruit Batter Bread Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 x Water warmed
  • 1 pkt dry yeast
  • 1 tsp Sugar Plus
  • 1/3 c. Sugar
  • 1 c. water warmed
  • 4 Tbsp. butter room temp
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 x egg
  • 3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 c. dry fruit minced

Directions

  1. Put the 1/2 c. hot water, yeast, and 1 tsp. sugar in a large mixing bowl. Stir to blend and let stand for 5 min to dissolve the yeast.
  2. Add in the 1 c. hot water, butter, 1/3 c. sugar, salt, egg, and 1 c. flour. Beat the mix vigorously till smooth. Add in the remaining 2 c. flour and beat again till smooth. Add in the dry fruit.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased 9 x 5 x 3 -inch pan or possibly two 5 x 3 x 3-inch pans, loosely cover with plastic wrap, and let stand till doubled in bulk or possibly till risen to the top of the pan.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375F. Bake the bread for 35 min if you are baking two small loaves; or possibly 45 min if baking one large loaf. Remove from the oven, turn out of the pan, and cold on a rack.
