%20and%20moving%20on,%20I%20should%20acknowledge%20that%20the%20break%20wasn%E2%80%99t%20a%20total%20waste.%20Sure,%20I%20spent%20most%20of%20it%20languishing%20like%20a%20lump%20on%20the%20couch,%20watching%20Teen%20Mom%20and%20eating%20microwave%20breakfast%20burritos%20at%20all%20hours%20of%20the%20day%20and%20night,%20but%20I%20also%20managed%20to%20get%20out%20and%20try%20a%20new%20coffee%20shop.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20had%20planned%20on%20trying%20a%20popular%20shop%20downtown%20but%20it%20was%20swamped%20with%20people,%20so%20I%20took%20a%20walk%20looking%20for%20a%20different%20option.%20I%20stumbled%20into%20Caf%C3%A9%20de%20los%20Muertos,%20a%20shop%20that%20uses%20coffee%20sourced%20from%20Mexico%20and%20Central%20America.%20I%20don%E2%80%99t%20know%20anything%20about%20coffee,%20as%20you%20know,%20except%20when%20it%20tastes%20good%20%E2%80%94%20and%20my%20giant%20shaken%20latt%C3%A9%20tasted%20very%20good.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAh,%20it%20was%20so%20nice.%20I%20spent%20hours%20writing,%20editing%20photos,%20planning%20projects,%20and%20drinking%20a%20big%20latt%C3%A9%20while%20an%20artist%20painted%20a%20mural%20on%20the%20wall%20in%20front%20of%20me.%20Like%20I%20said,%20I%20shouldn%E2%80%99t%20complain.%20A%20long%20day%20in%20that%20comfy%20spot%20definitely%20balanced%20the%20rest%20of%20my%20days%20spent%20gulping%20breakfast%20burritos%20down%20my%20sore%20throat.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBeing%20sick%20also%20had%20its%20surprise%20benefits!%20I%E2%80%99d%20planned%20on%20filling%20my%20days%20with%20extra%20grading%20and%20recipe%20testing,%20but%20instead%20I%20got%20tons%20of%20sleep,%20which%20I%20truly%20needed.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENo%20worries%20about%20a%20recipe%20shortage,%20though.%20I%20made%20you%20this%20Coconut%20Cream%20Gooey%20Butter%20Cake%20last%20week.%20It%20combines%20two%20of%20my%20favorite%20things:%20Gooey%20Butter%20Cake%20(made%20in%20a%20skillet,%20of%20course)%20and%20a%20light,%20fluffy%20coconut%20pastry%20cream.%20It%E2%80%99s%20the%20perfect%20amount%20of%20cream%20to%20get%20a%20bit%20with%20every%20bite%20and%20balance%20the%20amazing%20flavors.%20Enjoy%20it%20straight%20from%20the%20skillet%20so%20I%20can%20live%20vicariously%20through%20you%20%E2%80%94%20the%20novelty%20has%20worn%20off%20for%20Mike,%20who%20now%20insists%20we%20eat%20from%20real%20plates%20like%20civilized%20people.%20How%20boring!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHappy%20spring!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOne%20year%20ago:%20French%20Silk%20Pie%20Bars%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFour%20years%20ago:%20Three%20Safe-to-Eat%20Cookie%20Doughs:%20Chocolate%20Chip,%20Sugar,%20and%20Cake%20Batter!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFive%20years%20ago:%20Oatmeal%20Cake%20with%20Broiled%20Icing%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
