%20but%20my%20sister%20flew%20in%20for%20a%20visit%20-%20the%20same%20sister%20who%20called%20me%20a%20loser%20and%20a%20baby%20-%20but%20I%20forgave%20her%20because%20while%20she's%20younger%20than%20me%20she%20looks%20much%20older.%20%20Sad%20for%20her.%20%20Also,%20to%20retaliate%20for%20the%20name%20calling,%20I%20decided%20to%20%22kill%20her%20with%20kindness%22%20and%20there%20is%20nothing%20kinder%20than%20serving%20fresh%20butter-cream%20scones%20for%20breakfast.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20recipe%20is%20ridiculously%20easy%20and%20can%20be%20made%20in%20one%20bowl%20-%20no%20food%20processor%20or%20any%20other%20appliance%20is%20necessary...just%20a%20whisk%20and%20a%20pastry%20cutter%20and%20you'll%20have%20hot,%20fresh%20scones%20from%20the%20oven%20in%2020%20minutes!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20recipe%20has%20been%20in%20my%20collection%20for%20over%2025%20years%20-%20it's%20definitely%20tried%20and%20true%20and%20will%20cure%20what%20ails%20you...if%20you%20must%20wait%20until%20the%20mercury%20drops,%20so%20be%20it,%20but%20once%20you%20make%20these,%20they'll%20become%20a%20staple%20in%20your%20kitchen%20%20-%20mark%20my%20words!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20425%20degrees.%20%20In%20a%20mixing%20bowl,%20combine%20the%20flour,%20baking%20powder,%20sugar%20and%20salt%20and%20whisk%20together.%20%20Sprinkle%20the%20butter%20pieces%20over%20the%20flour%20mixture%20and%20using%20a%20pastry%20cutter,%20cut%20in%20the%20butter%20until%20mixture%20resembles%20small%20peas.%20%20Make%20a%20well%20in%20the%20center%20of%20the%20bowl%20and%20pour%20in%20the%20cream.%20%20Stir%20to%20combine,%20until%20a%20large%20mass%20of%20dough%20forms.%20%20Dump%20the%20entire%20mass%20of%20dough%20and%20all%20of%20the%20crumbs%20onto%20the%20countertop%20and%20knead%20by%20hand%20just%20until%20it%20all%20comes%20together%20into%20a%20rough,%20slightly%20sticky%20ball.%20%20Be%20careful%20not%20to%20over%20work%20the%20dough.%20%20Shape%20the%20dough%20into%20a%20circle%20about%208-inches%20in%20diameter.%20%20Cut%20in%20half,%20then%20in%20half%20again,%20forming%204%20large%20wedges,%20then%20cut%20those%20wedges%20in%20half.%20%20Place%20on%20an%20ungreased%20rimmed%20baking%20sheet%20and%20bake%20for%2012%20to%2015%20minutes%20or%20until%20tops%20are%20lightly%20browned%20a%20bit.%20%20Cool%20on%20a%20wire%20rack%20for%20at%20least%2010%20minutes.%20%20Serve%20warm%20-%20they%20are%20great%20plain%20but%20even%20better%20with%20butter%20and%20jam.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThanks%20to%20the%20heat%20wave%20my%20sister%20and%20I%20were%20able%20to%20sit%20outside%20on%20the%20deck%20this%20morning%20for%20%22cawfeetalk%22%20-%20it%20was%20so%20nice%20and%20warm%20and%20the%20first%20time%20I've%20been%20able%20to%20do%20that%20since%20LAST%20August!%20%20The%20sun%20it%20out,%20the%20sky%20is%20blue%20and%20my%20sister%20wants%20to%20go%20to%20Macy's...she'll%20have%20to%20touch%20every%20single%20item%20in%20the%20entire%20store%20with%20her%20crooked%20fingers%20before%20she'll%20be%20done%20shopping!%20%20%20Pray%20for%20me!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
