I am a new mom of a 4 month old baby. I used to blog activity about food, wine, and travel. Now I barely have time to even feed myself. However, I plan on getting back to blogging as soon as I can!
My husband's grandmother was a hard working Greek woman who survived World War II. She raised her children and bought a house by working with her hands in Canada. She was fiercely independent, resourceful, and loving. Her temper was legendary. She kept a beautiful vegetable and herb garden, went fishing (well into late 70s), and foraged the parks for edible greens. If Vancouver ever fall into anarchy, she would have no problem fending for herself and eat like a queen.
She taught me Greek home cook food, the use of each herb in the garden, and how to eat well and on budget. She inspired me to be the cook I am today and I continue to strive to cook as well as her.
