Next to rice, naan -- that delicious Indian oven-baked flat bread -- is my favorite accompaniment to meat and vegetable dishes that are prepared spicy. I call this recipe pork naan only because its main ingredient is ground pork and is spread over naan, pizza style. It doesn't matter how you want this dish served: open-faced or folded like the way kids eat their pizza. Be as generous or sparse with your cheese topping and adjust the spiciness of your meat as you wish. It's a "laid back" kind of recipe, but one that you will enjoy as an appetizer, snack or main dish.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1 cup red, green and yellow bell peppers, sliced into very tiny cubes
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 2 tbsps soy sauce
- 2 small Thai red or green chillies, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 3 tbsps Olive oil
- 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 4 pcs. naan bread
Directions
- In medium pan, heat Olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add ground pork and cook till browned.
- Add soy sauce and continue cooking for one minute.
- Add turmeric, Thai chillies, and salt and pepper to taste.
- Add bell peppers, mix well and cook for two minutes.
- Remove from heat.
- Take one naan bread at a time and top with the cooked pork. Sprinkle cheddar cheese over the pork and allow to melt over the warm meat.
