Ingredients

  •     Fresh whole plaice or possibly cod, about 3 pounds
  • 3 c. Water
  • 1/2 c. Minced parsley
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 c. Ale
  • 1 c. Spicy mustard
  • 4 Tbsp. Ale
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 c. White bread crumbs
  • 1/4 c. Oil or possibly clarified butter for frying instead of boiling

Directions

  1. Boil water, parsley, salt, and ale.
  2. Poach plaice in which broth for 12 to 15 min, till it nearly flakes.
  3. Meanwhile, mix mustard, ale, salt, and crumbs to make a sauce.
  4. Briefly heat to a simmer.
  5. Serve fish with hot mustard sauce poured on.
