%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnywho.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%207-year-old%20made%20a%20face%20but%20only%20because%20it%20wasn%E2%80%99t%20fish%20sticks.%20Unless%20dinner%20is%20fish%20sticks%20he%E2%80%99s%20not%20happy.%20Although%20he%20pretty%20much%20eats%20whatever%20I%20put%20it%20from%20of%20him%20becuase%20he%E2%80%99s%20tired%20of%20the%20you-respect-the-person-who-cooked-for-you-by-eating%20speech.%20Also%20a%20conversation%20I%20had%20more%20times%20than%20I%E2%80%99d%20like%20to%20admit.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%202-year-old?%20He%E2%80%99s%20a%20whole%20other%20story.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESeriously.%20He%20just%20looked%20at%20it%20and%20started%20crying!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYup,%20that%20be%20his%20reaction%20upon%20seeing%20his%20dinner%20plate.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMakes%20cooking%20and%20dirtying%20up%20the%20kitchen%20so%20worth%20it,%20right?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUgh.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20favorite%20is%20the%207-year-old%E2%80%99s%20reaction%20to%20the%202-year-old%E2%80%99s%20reaction.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESeriously,%20is%20he%20going%20to%20cry%20all%20dinner?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20is%20when%20I%20get%20to%20explain%20to%20him%20how%20we%20had%20to%20deal%20with%20the%20same%20thing%20when%20he%20was%202.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E(Why%20do%20we%20have%20kids%20again?)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnyway,%20I%20really%20liked%20dinner.%20The%20pork%20chops%20were%20sweet%20but%20not%20too%20sweet%20and%20a%20good%20combo%20with%20the%20sweet%20potato%20and%20Brussels%20sprouts.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHeat%20a%20skillet%20over%20medium-high%20heat.%20Spray%20with%20cooking%20spray.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESalt%20the%20pork%20chops%20and%20place%20them%20in%20the%20hot%20pan.%20Don%E2%80%99t%20move%20them%20for%20at%20least%203%20minutes.%20You%20should%20see%20them%20cooking%20up%20the%20side%20a%20bit.%20You%20know,%20the%20color%20will%20change.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFlip%20and%20brown%20on%20the%20other%20side%20just%20as%20long.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhile%20the%20pork%20chops%20are%20cooking,%20whisk%20the%20maple%20syrup,%20soy%20sauce%20and%20Worcestershire%20sauce.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERemove%20the%20chops%20from%20the%20skillet%20and%20pour%20in%20the%20syrup%20mixture.%20It%20will%20immediately%20bubble.%20That%E2%80%99s%20OK,%20take%20a%20wooden%20spoon%20and%20deglaze%20the%20pan,%20scraping%20up%20any%20stuck%20pork%20bits.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20the%20pork%20chops%20back%20in%20and%20coat%20them%20in%20the%20sauce.%20Just%20flip%20them%20a%20few%20times.%20Cook%20for%202-3%20more%20minutes%20based%20on%20thickness.%20There%20should%20be%20no%20pink%20when%20you%20cut%20into%20one.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%E2%80%99s%20a%20great%20looking%20dinner!%20I%20just%20don%E2%80%99t%20get%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOh!%20So%20you%20really%20want%20to%20know%20what%20happened%20with%20the%202-year-old,%20don%E2%80%99t%20you?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%E2%80%A8Well,%20he%20had%201%20bite%20of%20everything%20after%20much%20crying%20and%20negotiating.%20My%20bargaining%20chip?%20Avocado.%20He%20ended%20up%20eating%20half%20of%20an%20avocado%20but%20I%20wouldn%E2%80%99t%20give%20him%20any%20until%20he%20tried%20a%20bite%20of%20pork%20chop.%20Then%20when%20he%20asked%20for%20more%20avocado%20he%20didn%E2%80%99t%20get%20it%20until%20he%20tried%20a%20Brussels%20sprout.%20Hey,%20whatever%20works,%20right?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%20ended%20the%20meal%20with%20watermelon.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWatermelon%20for%20dessert!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%E2%80%99s%20one%20of%20the%20few%20fruits%20I%20can%20get%20the%202-year-old%20to%20eat%20even%20though%20he%20hates%20being%20dirty.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%E2%80%9CIt%E2%80%99s%20good%20but%20why%20does%20it%20have%20to%20be%20so%20messy?%E2%80%9D%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EKIDS!%20Gotta%20love%20them.%20:)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESharing:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStumble%20This%200%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
