  • 12 ounces pitted dates, finely chopped (about 1¾ cups chopped)
  • ¾ cup water
  • ⅓ cup maple syrup
  • For the Crust & Topping:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • ⅔ cup granulated sugar
