Double Chocolate Fantasy Bars Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pkt Chocolate cake mix
  • 1/3 c. Vegetable oil
  • 1 x Egg
  • 1 c. Minced nuts
  • 1 can Sweetened Condensed Lowfat milk (NOT evaporated )
  • 1 pkt (6 ounce) chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 dsh Salt

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, beat cake mix, oil and egg on medium speed till crumbly. Add in nuts. (If cake mix forms large lumps which stick together, mix a little longer after adding nuts and then break up lumps with a fork - you want it crumbly like large pcs of streusel.)
  2. Reserve 1 1/2C of crumb mix and press the remainder firmly on the bottom of a greased 9x13 pan. In a small saucepan or possibly microwave safe dish, combine condensed lowfat milk, chocolate chips, vanilla and salt. Over medium heat, cook and stir till chips heat (about 1 minutes. in microwave). Pour proportionately over prepared crust. Top with reserved crumb mix. Bake 25-30 minutes. or possibly till surface looks slightly bubbly. Cold and cut into bars. Store loosely covered at room temperature.
