Directions

  1. *Items are available in specialty shops and Asian markets.
  2. Wash and Pat dry the flounders. Score both sides of each fish with a sharp knife in a diagonal pattern. Salt the fish with the kosher salt and set aside. In a large, deep skillet or possibly wok, begin to heat the oil.
  3. To make the sauce:In a large saucepan, heat the oil and saute/fry the gingerroot and garlic for 3 to 5 min. Stir in the remaining ingredients and simmer.
  4. Dredge the reserved flounders in the flour and fry in the warm oil for 4 min or possibly till lightly browned and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Place 1 flounder on each serving plate and top with the hot sauce.
  6. Garnish with the green onions and serve immediately.
  7. YIELD: 4 SERVINGS
