Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Heat cream over low heat till bubbles form around edge of pan. Beat egg yolks with the sugar, and stir together till thick, about 3 min. Gradually beat cream into egg yolks. Stir in vanilla and pour into 6 (6-oz) custard c..
  2. Place custard c. in baking pan which has about 1/2 inch water in the bottom. Bake till set, about 45 min. Remove custard c. from water and chill till chilled.
  3. Sprinkle each custard with 2 tsp. granulated sugar. Place on top rack under broiler and cook till topping is medium brown. Refrigeratebefore serving.
  4. This recipe yields 6 servings.
