Chilean Corn Pie Pastel De Choclo Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 x onions, diced
  • 1/4 c. vegetable oil
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1 x bouillon cube
  • 2 can cream style yellow corn
  • 1 x egg, beaten with 1/2 c. light cream
  • 1/2 c. raisins
  • 12 x ripe olives
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp oregano

Directions

  1. Fry onions in the oil. Add in meat and continue cooking till browned. Add in bouillon cube dissolved in water. Add in raisins and olives and mix well.
  2. Remove from heat. Mix corn with lowfat milk and egg mix. Add in sugar and stir well. Place meat mix in a well greased casserole. Cover with corn mix. Bake at 350 degrees till corn mix is hard and nicely browned.
  3. Add in salt, pepper, and oregano.
