Directions

  1. Saute/fry onions and garlic till soft. Add in beef and brown. Add in tomatoes, chilies, taco seasoning, and salsa. Simmer a few min. If mix seems too dry, add in more salsa.
  2. Lightly grease a 9x3 inch baking dish. Place a layer of tortilla chips on the bottom of the pan and press to fit, overlapping well. Layer as follows: half of sauce/meat mix, half of lowfat sour cream, half Jack cheese. Repeat, starting with tortilla chips. Break them to lie flat. Top with Cheddar cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 min or possibly till heated through and cheeses are melted.
  3. Let stand 5 min. Cut into squares and enjoy. If a really "warm" dish is desired, use Warm salsa but be careful!
