Ingredients
- 3 lbs. sugar
- 4 ounce. powdered lowfat milk
- 4 ounce. cake flour
- 1 pound 4 ounce. Large eggs, break and weigh
- 11 ounce. melted butter
- 8 ounce. dark Karo syrup
- 2 c. warm water
- 2 c. cool water
- 2 drops yellow coloring
- 1 pound shredded coconut
- 5 unbaked pie crusts
Directions
- Mix sugar, lowfat milk, and flour. Add in Large eggs and blend well. Add in butter and dark syrup; mix till blended. Add in warm water and mix well. Add in cool water and coloring. Mix well. Stir in coconut. Pour into crusts. Place in preheated 350 degree oven. Turn oven down to 325 degrees immediately. Bake 35 min or possibly till set. Yield: Five pies.
