This is a delightful dessert to make on autumn days. It uses asian pears, which have a wonderful sweetness and texture that is accentuated by the maple, brown sugar and cinnamon crisp mixture.

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350.
  2. Core and chop the Asian pears.
  3. Combine the chopped Asian pears, sugar, flour, cinnamon and pecans in a bowl and mix until everything is evenly distributed.
  4. Transfer the pears into a greased 9-inch round or an 8x8 casserole dish. Pour the water over the pears, that will keep more moisture in the dish.
  5. In the bowl, combine the ingredients for the crisp and mix very well, until all incorporated. Spread the crisp over the pears, evenly.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes.
