Ingredients
- 2 C. Flour, sifted
- 1 t. Soda
- ½ t. Salt
- 1 t. Cinnamon
- ½ t. Nutmeg
- ¼ t. Cloves
- ½ C. Shortening
- 1 ¾ C.Sugar
- 3 Eggs
- 1 ½ C.Applesauce, sweetened
- 1 C. Raisins
- ½ C. Walnuts
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour a 13 x 9 x 2 pan.
- Sift together 1 ½ cups flour, soda, salt and spices and set aside. Cream together Crisco and sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Stir in the flour and alternate with applesauce, until blended. Mix remaining flour with raisins and nuts. Stir into other mixture.
- Bake 55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center of the cake.
