- Ginger snap cookies : 20
- Dark chocolate : 1 1/2 ounce
- Cocoa powder : 2 tbsp
- Butter (softened) : 3/4 stick or 6 tbsp
- For the Pumpkin pie filling:
- Pumpkin puree : 1 can / 15 oz
- Brown sugar : 3/4 cup
- Half n half milk : 1/2 cup
- Heavy cream : 1/2 cup
- Pumpkin pie spice : 2 tsp
- Eggs : 2
- Salt : 1/4 tsp

,%20on%20a%20lighter%20%20note%20a%20true%20Halloween%20movie%20shown%20by%20%E2%80%9CSandy%E2%80%9D%20the%20%E2%80%9CGhost%E2%80%9D,%20a%20party%20spoiler,%20and%20on%20such%20ghostly%20days,%20a%20warm%20dessert%20like%20our%20beloved%20pumpkin%20pie%20brings%20smile%20and%20comfort%20to%20our%20hearts.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEven%20in%20Halloween,%20dessert%20comes%20first,%20actually%20for%20me%20it%20is%20always%20dessert%20that%20comes%20first%20!%20pumpkin%20being%20my%20new%20muse,%20I%20fell%20in%20love%20with%20this%20pumpkin%20pie.%20Well,%20certainly%20this%20is%20not%20the%20first%20time%20I%20baked%20this%20pumpkin%20pie,%20last%20year%20too%20I%20tried%20a%20similar%20attempt%20but%20failed%20miserably,%20reason%20being%20my%20extra%20adventurous%20nature.%20I%20thought%20to%20make%20this%20from%20scratch,%20and%20by%20that%20I%20mean%20making%20your%20own%20pumpkin%20puree%20.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWell,%20how%20difficult%20it%20is%20that%20?%20With%20zero%20experience%20in%20selecting%20a%20good%20pumpkin%20to%20squashing%20the%20pulp%20out%20of%20it,%20an%20experience%20worth%20not%20repeating%20again.%20So%20this%20time%20I%20thought%20of%20using%20the%20canned%20pumpkin%20puree,%20a%20friend%20of%20mine%20finally%20convinced%20me%20in%20buying%20this%20one,%20and%20it%20yields%20good%20result%20much%20to%20my%20satisfaction.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhen%20it%20comes%20to%20Halloween%20party,%20and%20with%20pumpkin%20being%20the%20lone%20star,%20there%20is%20no%20need%20to%20keep%20the%20chocolate%20lovers%20out%20of%20the%20party,%20that%20will%20be%20insane,%20don%E2%80%99t%20you%20think%20so%20?%20Chocolates%20and%20pumpkins%20are%20perhaps%20the%20best%20matched%20pair%20and%20re%20discovered%20by%20me%20on%20my%20recent%20venture%20into%20the%20pumpkin%20brownies.%20Ideas%20galore,%20will%20try%20the%20brownies%20later,%20and%20now%20on%20to%20the%20pie%20crust.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENo%20need%20to%20tell%20me%20that%20cookies%20makes%20such%20nice%20crispy%20crust,%20I%20found%20this%20genius%20idea%20year%20ago%20when%20I%20baked%20my%20first%20cheesecake,%20so%20this%20time%20it%20%20was%20the%20time%20for%20some%20ginger%20snap%20cookies%20which%20not%20only%20will%20add%20the%20crunch%20to%20the%20crust%20but%20will%20also%20spiced%20up%20the%20chocolate.%20Oohhh%E2%80%A6%20I%20love%20this%20crust%20even%20more%20than%20the%20pie%20itself%20!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo%20idea%20was%20to%20use%20the%20ginger%20snap%20cookies%20for%20crust%20and%20when%20mixed%20with%20chocolate%20it%20%20brings%20out%20the%20full%20fall%20flavour,%20and%20for%20the%20filling,%20I%20have%20used%20both%20half%20n%20half%20milk%20and%20heavy%20cream,%20part%20guilty%20of%20using%20the%20cream%20and%20part%20not%20guilty%20of%20using%20half%20n%20half,%20so%20you%20understand%20my%20point%20right%20?%20Then%20why%20wait%20%E2%80%A6%20Dig%20it%20on%20%E2%80%A6..%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERecipe:%20Pumpkin%20pie%20with%20ginger%20spiced%20chocolate%20crust%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESummary:%20Delicious%20pumpkin%20pie%20with%20a%20crunchy%20and%20rich%20chocolate%20crust%20spiced%20up%20with%20ginger%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFor%20the%20pie%20crust%20:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EInstructions%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETo%20make%20ginger%20chocolate%20crust%20:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20the%20oven%20to%20375%20F.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECrush%20the%20ginger%20snap%20cookies%20and%20pulse%20them%20in%20a%20mixer%20till%20it%20resembles%20fine%20crumbs.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStrain%20the%20crumbs%20to%20discard%20any%20large%20pieces.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20mixing%20bowl%20add%20the%20ginger%20snap%20cookie%20crumbs,%20add%20the%20softened%20butter,%20molten%20chocolate,%20cocoa%20powder%20and%20mix%20it%20well.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPour%20the%20mixture%20into%20the%20pie%20tin%20and%20spread%20the%20mixture%20evenly%20(base%20+%20walls%20of%20the%20pie%20tin)%20with%20the%20help%20of%20a%20spatula.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERefrigerate%20the%20pie%20crust%20for%202%20hours%20to%2024%20hours.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBlind%20bake%20the%20crust%20at%20375%20F%20for%2015%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETake%20off%20from%20the%20oven%20and%20cool%20it%20completely.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETo%20make%20Pumpkin%20pie%20filling%20:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20the%20oven%20at%20375%20F.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMix%20brown%20sugar%20with%20the%20pumpkin%20spice%20and%20salt.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBeat%20the%20eggs%20in%20a%20separate%20bowl.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhisk%20the%20pumpkin%20puree%20with%20eggs,%20half%20n%20half%20milk%20and%20heavy%20cream%20until%20smooth.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStir%20in%20the%20sugar,%20spice%20mixture%20and%20whisk%20until%20no%20lumps%20of%20sugar%20are%20seen.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPour%20the%20pumpkin%20pie%20filling%20into%20the%20prepared%20chocolate%20pie%20crust.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20in%20the%20oven%20at%20375%20F%20for%2045%20minutes%20until%20the%20center%20of%20the%20pie%20remains%20wobbly%20or%20needle%20inserted%20in%20the%20middle%20comes%20out%20almost%20clean.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECool%20the%20pumpkin%20pie%20in%20the%20pan%20for%202%20hours%20before%20serving.%
