%20other%20cheese.%20%20It%20is%20%20not%20pepperoni%20wrapped%20in%20pizza%20dough.%20%20It%20should%20not%20contain%20any%20other%20meats,%20vegetables,%20or%20sauces.%20%20It%20is%20meant%20to%20be%20simple%20and%20not%20require%20refrigeration%E2%80%A6it%20is%20a%20roll%20with%20pepperoni.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHowever,%20they%20can%20be%20simply%20made%20at%20home%20and%20enjoyed%20fresh%20from%20the%20oven.%20%20The%20complex%20way%20to%20make%20them%20at%20home%20is%20by%20making%20your%20own%20bread%20or%20roll%20dough.%20%20The%20simple%20way%20to%20make%20them%20at%20home%20is%20to%20use%20store-bought%20frozen%20bread%20dough.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThere%20are%20some%20people%20who%20are%20adamant%20that%20pepperoni%20rolls%20should%20be%20made%20with%20small%20sticks%20of%20pepperoni;%20the%20rest%20of%20us%20prefer%20pepperoni%20made%20with%20sliced%20pepperoni.%20I%20like%20using%20%E2%80%9Csandwich%E2%80%9D%20pepperoni.%20It%20is%20a%20nice%20size%20for%20the%20rolls,%20especially%20larger%20rolls,%20and%20it%20is%20easy%20to%20get%20freshly%20sliced%20at%20the%20deli.%20Although%20I%20do%20not%20know%20why,%20I%20believe%20that%20you%20really%20get%20a%20better%20result%20using%20recently%20sliced%20pepperoni.%20The%20pre-sliced%20pepperoni%20that%20I%20have%20used%20in%20the%20past%20just%20isn%E2%80%99t%20the%20same.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhile%20the%20bread%20is%20baking,%20the%20pepperoni%20releases%20its%20oils%20into%20the%20surrounding%20soft%20bread%20creating%20a%20visibly%20orange%20area%20surrounding%20the%20pepperoni.%20I%20think%20it%20is%20what%20makes%20a%20pepperoni%20roll%20so%20wonderful.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhile%20my%20family%20enjoys%20home-made%20(or%20semi-homemade)%20without%20cheese,%20I%20always%20prefer%20cheese.%20The%20cheese%20also%20melts%20into%20the%20bread%20dough%20and%20pepperoni%20oils%20as%20the%20rolls%20bake%20to%20add%20even%20more%20deliciousness.%20You%20will%20have%20to%20decide%20between%20shredded%20or%20sliced%20sticks%20or%20mini-slabs.%20I%20usually%20use%20cheese%20that%20I%20cut%20from%20a%20block%20as%20it%20is%20what%20I%20usually%20have%20on%20hand;%20I%20also%20like%20that%20the%20cheese%20is%20concentrated%20in%20the%20middle%20when%20I%20use%20the%20stick%20or%20slab.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERecipe:%20Pepperoni%20Rolls%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EInstructions:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20using%20frozen%20dough,%20allow%20to%20thaw%20and%20rise%20as%20directed%20by%20package.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20the%20first%20rise%20(both%20from%20scratch%20or%20commercially%20frozen%20dough),%20shape%20dough%20into%20logs%20and%20cut%20into%20equal%20portions%20of%20desired%20size.%20(1%20loaf%20of%20commercially%20frozen%20bread%20dough%20makes%204%20jumbo%20pepperoni%20rolls).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStretch%20dough%20into%20an%20oblong%20shape%20and%20flatten%20it%20with%20your%20hand%20if%20needed.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20dough%20should%20be%20about%20between%201/4%20to%203/4%20inch%20thick.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20pepperoni%20slices%20so%20that%20they%20overlap%20slightly%20or%20the%20sticks%20are%20side-by-side.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIf%20using%20cheese,%20place%20the%20desired%20amount%20cheese%20along%20one%20long%20edges%20of%20the%20pepperoni.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUsing%20a%20finger%20or%20brush,%20dab%20exposed%20edge%20of%20the%20dough%20on%20the%20opposite%20side%20of%20the%20cheese%20(or%20one%20side%20if%20not%20using)%20and%20the%20exposed%20dough%20on%20the%20short%20sides%20with%20milk.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERoll%20up%20(in%20jelly%20roll%20form)%20starting%20on%20the%20long%20side%20that%20does%20not%20have%20milk%20brushed%20on%20it.%20Continue%20making%20a%20rather%20tight%20roll%20until%20the%20milk%20laden%20dough%20is%20reached.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPress%20the%20last%20side%20of%20the%20dough%20against%20the%20roll%20to%20form%20a%20seam.%20Tuck%20the%20ends%20together%20and%20under%20on%20the%20same%20side%20as%20the%20seam.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20in%20a%20baking%20pan%20or%20dish%20that%20has%20been%20greased%20or%20prepared%20with%20a%20non-stick%20spray.%20The%20rolls%20should%20not%20touch%20(yet).%20Allow%20about%201/2%20to%201%20inch%20between%20each.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECover%20with%20non-stick%20sprayed%20plastic%20wrap.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20350%20degrees%20F.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnce%20rolls%20have%20increased%20in%20size%20(they%20do%20not%20have%20to%20double,%20but%20it%20needs%20to%20be%20noticeable)%20place%20in%20oven%20to%20bake%20until%20golden%20brown,%20about%2020%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThey%20should%20sound%20rather%20hollow%20when%20tapped%20when%20done.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETurn%20from%20pan%20upon%20removal%20from%20oven.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAllow%20to%20cool%20off%20some%20before%20eating.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStore%20in%20plastic%20bags%20or%20airtight%20containers.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECopyright%20%C2%A9%202015.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERecipe%20by%20Paula,%20A%20Simple%20Home%20Cook.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPepperoni%20Rolls%20are%20great%20for%20lunches,%20camping,%20tailgate%20parties,%20and%20much%20more.%3C/p%3E){kind
