Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound salt pork, cut in sm. pcs and brown
  • 3 lg. onions in sm. pcs
  • 4 lg. potatoes, cut in 1/2 inch cubes
  • 4 pound haddock, cut in sm. pcs
  • 6 c. boiling water
  • 1 c. lowfat milk
  • 1 c. cream
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tbsp. parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 pound butter

Directions

  1. Remove salt pork and brown onions in drippings of salt pork. Add in salt pork, onions, and drippings in kettle, add in potatoes, boiling water, and cook for 5 min. Add in fish and simmer till potatoes are soft. Add in lowfat milk, cream, salt, pepper, and parsley. Heat butter and add in slowly till chowder starts to thicken. Cook about 5 min longer and serve. Serves 10 people (which are hungry).
