%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBlack%20vodka%20%E2%80%93%20infused%20black%20rice%20method%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETo%20make%20black%20rice,%20place%20one%20cup%20of%20black%20rice%20in%20a%20clean%20quart%20sized%20Ball%20jar.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFill%20the%20rest%20of%20the%20Ball%20jar%20with%20marshmallow%20vodka.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStore%20for%2024%20hours%20in%20a%20cool,%20shady%20area.%20Shake%20occasionally.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDrain%20contents%20of%20Ball%20jar%20over%20a%20fine%20mesh%20sieve%20into%20a%20pitcher%20or%20large%20quart%20measuring%20cup%20with%20a%20pouring%20spout.%20Toss%20the%20rice.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWash%20out%20Ball%20jar%20and%20pour%20black%20vodka%20back%20into%20jar.%20Label%20jar%20and%20cap%20with%20a%20pouring%20spout.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%20can%20leave%20the%20rice%20sitting%20in%20the%20vodka%20for%20a%20week%20or%20longer.%20However,%20a%20day%20is%20sufficient%20as%20the%20rice%20gives%20up%20most%20of%20its%20color%20after%20a%20day.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20felt%20a%20bit%20guilty%20throwing%20the%20rice%20away.%20I%20did%20taste%20a%20few%20kernels,%20and%20they%20were%20soft%20and%20flavorful.%20At%20the%20time%20I%20was%20leaving%20town%20for%20a%20business%20trip.%20If%20I%20was%20home,%20I%20would%20have%20saved%20the%20infused%20black%20rice%20leftovers,%20and%20tried%20to%20make%20an%20adult%20rice%20pudding%20dessert.%20Next%20time!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMaking%20a%20Dead%20Man%E2%80%99s%20Kiss%20Cocktail%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20loved%20how%20the%20black%20vodka%20turned%20out.%20The%20taste%20of%20the%20vodka%20was%20enhanced%20by%20the%20sweetness%20of%20the%20rice.%20I%20could%20detect%20a%20little%20bit%20of%20rice%20flavor,%20but%20since%20black%20rice%20is%20somewhat%20sweet%20it%20wasn't%20a%20problem.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAs%20for%20the%20color,%20while%20it%E2%80%99s%20black%20in%20the%20Ball%20jar,%20in%20the%20glass,%20the%20black%20vodka%20is%20actually%20a%20very%20dark%20purple.%20Keeping%20this%20in%20mind,%20I%20didn%E2%80%99t%20want%20to%20lighten%20the%20liquid%20up%20by%20using%20cream%20or%20even%20a%20golden%20liqueur.%20Instead,%20I%20wanted%20to%20combine%20it%20with%20amber%20and%20dark%20colored%20libations.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20went%20to%20my%20local,%20well%20stocked%20liquor%20store%20for%20inspiration%20and%20settled%20on%20Sabroso%20Licor%20de%20Caf%C3%A9,%20a%20Mexican%20coffee%20liqueur.%20I%20thought%20I%E2%80%99d%20add%20a%20touch%20of%20Frangelico,%20a%20hazelnut%20liqueur%20that%20I%20had%20at%20home.%20(If%20you%20are%20allergic%20to%20nuts,%20leave%20the%20Frangelico%20out%20or%20substitute%20it%20with%20a%20chocolate%20liqueur.)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBut%20what%20to%20call%20this%20delightfully%20sweet%20black%20vodka%20Halloween%20cocktail%20recipe?%20As%20a%20tribute%20to%20one%20of%20my%20favorite%20shows,%20The%20Walking%20Dead,%20the%20name%20Dead%20Man%E2%80%99s%20Kiss%20seemed%20appropriate%20%E2%80%93%20a%20bit%20black,%20sweetly%20scary,%20and%20oh%20so%20enjoyable!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERed%20decorating%20sugar%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIce%20cubes%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDirections%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlace%20decorating%20sugar%20in%20a%20small%20dish.%20Turn%20the%20glass%20upside%20down%20and%20dip%20it%20into%20a%20small%20bowl%20of%20water.%20Dip%20the%20rim%20of%20glass%20into%20the%20sugar.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECarefully%20place%20ice%20cubes%20into%20the%20glass.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20small%20measuring%20cup%20with%20a%20spout,%20mix%20the%20vodka,%20coffee%20liqueur%20and%20Frangelico%20together.%20Pour%20over%20ice%20and%20serve.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPrep%20Time:%205%20Minutes%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETotal%20Time:%205%20Minutes%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServings:%20Makes%201%20cocktail%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServing%20size:%202%20ounce%20drink%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
