,%20but%20some%20of%20the%20high(low?)lights%20include:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%E2%80%93%20waiting%20in%20all%20day%20for%20a%20parcel%20that%20never%20arrived%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%E2%80%93%20calling%20up%20at%20about%204:30pm%20and%20being%20told%20that%20the%20delivery%20driver%20left%20my%20parcel%20at%20the%20depot%20that%20morning,%20and%20that%20it%20wouldn%E2%80%99t%20be%20coming%20(uhhh,%20would%20have%20been%20nice%20if%20you%E2%80%99d%20let%20me%20know,%20UPS,%20not%20that%20I%E2%80%99m%20bitter%20or%20anything)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%E2%80%93%20screaming%20down%20the%20motorway%20to%20collect%20the%20parcel%20from%20the%20depot%20right%20when%20I%20needed%20to%20leave%20to%20head%20into%20London,%20making%20me%20about%20half%20an%20hour%20late%20leaving%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%E2%80%93%20packing%20up%20goodie%20bags%20on%20my%20hands%20and%20knees%20in%20the%20back%20of%20my%20husband%E2%80%99s%20van%20on%20the%20way%20to%20the%20venue%20(please%20don%E2%80%99t%20call%20the%20police%20on%20me)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%E2%80%93%20also%20getting%20dressed%20and%20doing%20my%20make%20up%20loose%20in%20the%20back%20of%20the%20van,%20bracing%20for%20every%20corner%20and%20pausing%20mascara%20application%20for%20every%20speed%20bump%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%E2%80%93%20driving%20down%20the%20road%20with%20the%20most%20speed%20bumps%20in%20the%20entire%20world%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnyway,%20we%20got%20to%20the%20venue%20eventually,%20only%20slightly%20flustered%20and%20with%20only%20seven%20mascara%20smears%20on%20my%20forehead%20(success!).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20had%20a%20lovely%20evening%20meeting%20some%20lovely%20blog%20readers%20and%20some%20lovely%20people%20who%20had%20never%20even%20read%20my%20blog%20before%20(I%20hope%20you%E2%80%99re%20here%20now,%20hello!),%20and%20eating%20some%20lovely%20food,%20which%20the%20lovely%20chef%20and%20lovely%20kitchen%20team%20had%20prepared%20just%20lovely-ly.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20menu%20consisted%20of:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStarters:%20cheesy%20fried%20tortellini;%20roasted%20cauliflower%20soup%20with%20crispy%20leeks%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMain%20courses:%20beluga%20lentils%20with%20herb%20crusted%20aubergine;%20garlic%20mushroom%20burritos%20with%20sweet%20potato%20fries%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDesserts:%20salted%20chocolate%20pots%20with%20caramel%20sauce;%20balsamic%20roasted%20strawberries%20with%20coconut%20cream%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20stuffing%20ourselves%20silly,%20the%20night%20ended%20with%20some%20awesome%20goodie%20bags%20(which%20were%20totally%20worth%20scrabbling%20around%20in%20the%20back%20of%20a%20van%20for).%20Thanks%20to%20the%20amazing%20companies%20who%20generously%20donated%20items:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E(left%20to%20right)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%E2%80%93%20Cranks,%20who%20donated%20some%20Whole%20Lotta%20Loaf%20wholemeal%20loaves%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%E2%80%93%20Your%20Tea,%20who%20donated%20a%20selection%20of%20lovely%20tea%20bags%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%E2%80%99m%20sure%20everyone%20went%20home%20very%20happy%20with%20full%20stomachs!%20Thanks%20to%20everyone%20who%20came,%20I%20had%20a%20really%20really%20great%20evening.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow,%20onto%20that%20cheesy%20fried%20tortellini%E2%80%A6%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%20pretty%20much%20does%20what%20it%20says%20on%20the%20tin%20%E2%80%93%20it%E2%80%99s%20tortellini%20that%E2%80%99s%20been%20breaded%20and%20fried,%20then%20tossed%20in%20a%20bit%20of%20finely%20grated%20parmesan%20(well,%20a%20veggie%20alternative%20anyway).%20If%20you%E2%80%99re%20quick%20enough,%20the%20cheese%20is%20melted%20a%20touch%20by%20the%20hot%20breadcrumbs%20%E2%80%93%20and%20even%20if%20you%E2%80%99re%20not%20quick%20enough,%20you%20still%20end%20up%20with%20an%20incredible%20%20crispy,%20cheesy%20snack.%20As%20far%20as%20I%20could%20tell,%20this%20was%20a%20big%20hit%20with%20everyone%20who%20chose%20it%20at%20the%20supper%20club.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%20can%20use%20any%20type%20of%20tortellini%20you%20like.%20No,%20I%20don%E2%80%99t%20make%20my%20own%20tortellini%20(do%20you%20know%20me%20at%20all?),%20but%20I%20did%20make%20sure%20I%20got%20the%20good%20stuff%20for%20a%20really%20top%20notch%20appetiser.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20used%20a%20spinach%20and%20ricotta%20tortellini,%20but%20mushroom%20tortellini,%20sun-dried%20tomato%20tortellini,%20or%20pretty%20much%20any%20other%20kind%20of%20tortellini%20would%20be%20amazing%20too.%20Let%E2%80%99s%20be%20honest,%20it%E2%80%99s%20hard%20to%20ruin%20cheesy%20fried%20tortellini.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECheesy%20fried%20tortellini%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20Author:%20Becca%20@%20Amuse%20Your%20Bouche%20Yield:%20Serves%208%20%20%20Ingredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E400g%20(~3%20cups)%20fresh%20tortellini%20(I%20used%20spinach%20and%20ricotta)%202%20eggs,%20lightly%20beaten%20100g%20plain%20flour%20200g%20panko%20breadcrumbs%20Oil%20for%20frying%2050g%20vegetarian%20parmesan-style%20cheese,%20finely%20grated%20Salt%20Black%20pepper%20%20%20Instructions%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBoil%20the%20tortellini%20in%20a%20pan%20of%20water%20for%20just%20a%20couple%20of%20minutes,%20until%20half-cooked.%20Drain%20them,%20and%20gently%20spread%20them%20out%20on%20a%20lined%20baking%20tray%20in%20a%20single%20layer.%20Leave%20to%20cool.%20Toss%20each%20piece%20of%20tortellini%20in%20the%20flour,%20then%20dip%20in%20the%20egg,%20then%20coat%20in%20the%20breadcrumbs.%20Place%20back%20onto%20the%20baking%20tray%20while%20you%20do%20the%20rest%20(I%20found%20it%20easiest%20to%20do%20this%20in%20batches%20of%20about%208%20pieces%20at%20a%20time).%20When%20you%E2%80%99ve%20breaded%20all%20of%20the%20tortellini,%20heat%20about%201cm%20of%20oil%20in%20a%20deep%20frying%20pan%20or%20large%20wok%20(or,%20of%20course,%20use%20a%20deep%20fryer).%20When%20the%20oil%20is%20heated%20to%20the%20point%20that%20a%20breadcrumb%20will%20sizzle%20when%20added,%20add%20one%20batch%20of%20the%20tortellini.%20Don%E2%80%99t%20overcrowd%20the%20pan%20-%20the%20tortellini%20need%20to%20be%20in%20a%20single%20layer,%20with%20a%20bit%20of%20space%20in%20between%20them.%20When%20the%20undersides%20are%20golden%20brown,%20turn%20each%20piece%20over,%20and%20repeat%20with%20the%20other%20side.%20Leave%20the%20cooked%20tortellini%20to%20drain%20on%20some%20kitchen%20paper%20while%20you%20cook%20the%20remaining%20batches.%20When%20all%20of%20the%20tortellini%20are%20cooked,%20add%20the%20parmesan%20cheese%20and%20plenty%20of%20salt%20and%20pepper,%20and%20toss%20until%20all%20the%20tortellini%20are%20well-coated.%20Serve%20immediately.%20%203.2.2925%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWant%20a%20cheesy%20appetiser%20that%E2%80%99s%20a%20bit%20less%20labour-intensive?%20Try%20my%20chutney%20and%20cheese%20spirals%20instead%20%E2%80%93%20they%20only%20take%2010%20minutes%20to%20put%20together!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
