Hello the Group

It's very nice to have found a group that I can relate to. dairy free, wheat free, sugar free, yeast free, dairy free, soy free red meat free... you can imagine the difficulty for my boy friend to cook. I'ver been diagnosed with lupus. I'm seeing a nutritionist/naturpath person that was recommended. I've been all the above since Dec 28. I feel better but it is tough. Been looking for recipes and ways to cook besides raw and steam that I can eat. I also don't micro, BBQ or as much as possible fry. If anyone has their secret how to's for cooking healthy please share.

One way my boy friend cooks eggs is to boil water in a large pot, lightly beat some eggs, put in some sheep cheese and and put them in an a zip lock bag and put them in the water. You have to roll them over, sometimes he has to open the bag to let the air out but after they're done their ready to go. Breakfast burrittos with corn tortillas, or spelt tortillas, or a little guacamole... etc. Very good and check it out. no yeast, no spelt, no sugar, no dairy etc.
I'm looking to being a part of the group.

Re: Hello the Group

Hi Carol,
I sympathize with your many dietary restrictions. I have all of them except meat plus eggs. It's tough to be so restricted but the health benefits are worth it. I found that it gets easier and easier once I learn and incorporate the new techniques. When I first started I had to think carefully about everything single thing I bought, prepared and ate. Now, it's second nature.

I'm working on a newsletter called "The Sophisticated Peasant" that will feature weekly recipes for artisanal allergen friendly eating. Let me know if you're interested, I'll let you know when it's ready.

Good Luck with your health!

Re: Hello the Group

Hi Carol
I haven't been on here much except to share my recipes but tonight I decided to go through the groups I have joined.
I am really happy with this one, especially, because I have Celiac disease and several food allergies.
Thanks to Sharon for starting this.
Jayne
