,%20but%20I%20did%20find%20myself%20craving%20some%20Welsh%20Rarebit.%20The%20ingredients%20were%20on-hand%20in%20my%20kitchen%20and%20the%20recipe%20didn't%20seem%20too%20labor%20intensive%20or%20complicated%20for%20a%20quick%20afternoon%20snack,%20so...%20off%20I%20went.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWelsh%20Rarebit%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMethod:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1.%20Melt%20butter%20in%20a%20heavy%20bottomed%20saucepan%20and%20fry%20garlic%20until%20golden%20brown%20and%20fragrant.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.%20Add%20in%20the%20flour%20and%20mix%20over%20medium%20heat%20to%20form%20a%20roux.%203.%20Slowly%20pour%20in%20the%20dark%20ale,%20and%20continue%20to%20mix%20until%20well%20combined.%20Then,%20slowly%20add%20in%20the%20milk%20and%20cook%20over%20medium%20until%20mixture%20begins%20to%20thicken.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4.%20Add%20in%20nutmeg,%20mustard,%20Worcestershire%20sauce%20and%20salt%20to%20taste.%20Continue%20mixing,%20and%20add%20in%20the%20cheese.%20Stir%20sauce%20until%20cheese%20is%20well%20melted%20and%20mixture%20is%20nice%20and%20thick.%205.%20Place%20slices%20of%20French%20bread%20on%20a%20baking%20tray;%20spread%20cheese-ale%20sauce%20over%20top%20of%20slices%20and%20place%20tray%20in%20the%20oven.%20Set%20oven%20to%20broil%20and%20cook%20until%20cheese%20topping%20bubbles%20and%20browns,%20and%20French%20bread%20begins%20to%20brown.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E6.%20Optional:%20Serve%20rarebit%20topped%20with%20a%20garnish%20of%20chopped%20spring%20onions.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20Guinness%20flavor%20was%20really%20strong%20in%20the%20rarebit,%20but%20boy%20was%20it%20tasty.%20Man!%20The%20Brits%20really%20know%20how%20to%20eat%20their%20toast!%20I%20mean,%20toast%20and%20beans,%20toast%20and%20eggs,%20toast%20and%20cheese...%20all%20sound%20uber-tasty%20to%20me%20but%20I've%20never%20seen%20it%20served%20as%20a%20snack%20food%20in%20Canada.%20I%20will%20definitely%20be%20making%20this%20recipe%20again,%20I%20just%20gotta%20go%20out%20and%20buy%20more%20ale...%20I%20finished%20off%20the%20last%20can%20of%20Guinness,%20because%20hey...%20what%20else%20could%20I%20do%20since%20my%20recipe%20only%20called%20for%201/3%20cup%20of%20the%20malty,%20creamy%20nectar?!%20(Did%20I%20mention%20that%20Guinness%20is%20my%20favorite%20draught...%20probably%20why%20it%20was%20the%20ale%20that%20ended%20up%20in%20my%20rarebit)...%20uh,%20oh...%20gotta%20sober%20up%20before%20work%20:P%20jkjk%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
