Ingredients

  • 4-8 turkey breast steaks, cut 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 tbsp. peanut oil
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon chicken seasoned stock base
  • 1/2 teaspoon powdered ginger
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp. sherry
  • 1 tbsp. wine vinegar
  • 1/4 c. soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 c. water
  • Warm cooked rice
  • 1/4 c. sliced green onions

Directions

  1. Season turkey with salt and pepper. Saute/fry in heated oil unitl golden, turning once. Remove steaks from pan.
  2. Combine all other ingredients, except rice and green onions, in pan. Cook and stir till sauce clears and thickens. Return turkey steaks to sauce and reheat a few min. Serve with rice; sprinkle with green onion.
  3. Makes 4 servings.
