Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. Crisco shortening
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 c. light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 c. sifted flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 Large eggs, beaten
  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 1 1/2 c. shredded coconut
  • 1 c. nuts, coarsely cut

Directions

  1. Combine Crisco and salt, add in 1/2 c. brown sugar and cream thoroughly. Add in 1 c. flour and blend. Spread in 8x12 inch pan (greased and floured). Bake 325 degrees for 15 min or possibly till lightly browned.
  2. Add in remaining 1 c. brown sugar and vanilla to beaten Large eggs. Beat till thick and foamy. Add in 2 Tbsp. flour, baking pwdr, coconut and nuts and blend. Spread over baked mix. Return to 325 degree oven and bake 25 min. Cold and cut in small rectangles.
