Sour milk and feta cheese phyllo pie

Ingredients

  • 400ml sour milk,
  • 200ml natural yoghurt
  • 200ml sunflower oil
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 500g phyllo dough, sheets for pies and strudels
  • 100 g feta cheese

Directions

  1. Mix and combine, until smooth, sour milk, yogurt, oil, eggs and baking powder.
  2. Spoon and set aside 8 tablespoons of the mixture.
  3. Set aside 4 sheets of phyllo dough, and tear the remaining sheets into small pieces. Stir them gently into the sour milk filling.
  4. Add and combine crumbled feta cheese.
  5. Place 2 pastry sheets on the bottom of the oiled baking pan. Cover with evenly distributed sour milk filling, cover with 2 remaining pastry sheets.
  6. Spread 8 tablespoons of the sour milk, yogurt, oil, eggs and baking powder mixture over the top sheet.
  7. Bake at 200⁰C for about 30 minutes or until done and golden in colour.
  8. Allow to cool slightly, cut and serve.
