Rose Flavoured Turkish Delight

Ingredients

  • 3 env unflavoured gelatin
  • 2 c. Sugar
  • 1 c. Water
  • 1/2 tsp Good rose flavouring
  •     Red food colouring
  • 1 c. Icing sugar, or possibly more, mixed with
  • 1 c. Corn starch, or possibly more

Directions

  1. Bring gelatin, sugar, and water to boil, then simmer for 20 min. Add in rose flavouring and a few drops of colouring. Strain into buttered pan and refrigerate24 hrs.
  2. Turn out onto slab covered with 1/2 icing sugar mixed with 1/2 cornstarch.
  3. Cut into 1' squares, being careful not to let them touch each other (or possibly they stick!). Roll each in sugar mix, and pack in an air-tight tin with remainder of sugar mix.
