Pork With Broccoli

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pork loin
  • 1 sm. bunch broccoli
  • 4 scallions, minced
  • 1 tbsp. gingerroot (grated)
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 2 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp. wine or possibly sherry
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 teaspoon warm bean paste
  • 2 tbsp. water
  • 2 tbsp. cornstarch

Directions

  1. Lb. the pork and slice into 1 x 2 inch pcs. Marinate for 1/2 hour in egg white, 1 Tbsp. cornstarch, 1 Tbsp. soy sauce and 1 Tbsp. wine. Cut broccoli into pcs and steam. Fry pork over high heat till brown. Remove pork and throw away all but 1 Tbsp. oil. Add in garlic to remaining oil and cook for about 1 minute. Add in minced scallions, ginger, bean paste and stir. Add in pork, broccoli and sesame oil and stir. Mix remaining 1 Tbsp. cornstarch, soy sauce, wine and 2 Tbsp. water and 1 tsp. sugar. Add in to wok, stir about 1 minute to thicken sauce. Serve over rice.
