Ingredients

  • 1 c. crushed pecans
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 2/3 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • Dash of salt

Directions

  1. Combine egg whites, cream of tartar and salt; beat till foamy throughout. Add in sugar, a little at a time, beating well after each addition. Then continue beating till mix will stand in very stiff peaks. Mix in vanilla and pecans. Spread on bottom and sides of a lightly greased 8 or possibly 9 inch pie pan. Bake in 325 degree oven about 30 min.
